Emily Falk is a professor of communication, psychology, and marketing at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also directs the Communication Neuroscience Lab and serves as associate dean for research at the Annenberg School for Communication. What We Value is her first book. Her work on the science of attitude and behavior change has been widely covered in the popular press and recognized with numerous awards, including early career awards from the Social & Affective Neuroscience Society and the Association for Psychological Science, the National Institute of Health Director's New Innovator Award, and more. She lives in Philadelphia.

Max Ehrmann

Max Ehrmann was born in Indiana, graduated from De Pauw University, going on to do graduate studies in law and philosophy at Harvard University. After practising law for several years he joined the family business, but retired ten yeas later to concentrate on writing. He died in 1945 and it was only in the late '60s that Desiderata became an cult poem for a new generation.

Jeanne Ellin

Jeanne Ellin has spent her working life in the caring professions and has many years' experience of counselling and running workshops for trainee counsellors. Her book's gentle, encouraging approach is designed to help the would-be counsellor grow and develop while acquiring a sound grasp of the basic essentials of counselling techniques.

Iain Ellwood

He is the Worldwide Strategic Growth Director for Brand Union. Working with CEOs and boards, Iain's focus is on increasing profitable growth. He believes in value-based strategy that leads to practical business actions and results. Previously Iain was Founding Partner of Senate Management Consultancy. Prior to that he was head of consulting at Interbrand; he lead the integration and growth of the strategy, brand valuation & analytics and brand engagement teams. Prior to this he worked at Prophet management consultancy where he led a number of global strategic marketing engagements. Iain spent the early part of his career in the corporate team at Philips.
He has authored several books including Wonder Woman: Marketing Secrets for the Trillion Dollar Customer, The Essential Brand Book and the brand strategy chapter in Brands and Branding (The Economist). He is a member of several professional associations including the Harvard Business Review advisory panel & McKinsey & Co. executive research panel. He holds a Masters degree in social psychology from the University of London & is a graduate of the Omnicom University Senior Leadership Programme in Boston where he was taught by Harvard Professors Jim Heskett and Frances Frei. Iain lectures on the MBA Programme at London Business School.
He has led commercially effective engagements for clients in all sectors including AstraZeneca, BP, British Airways, Barclays, ING, InterContinental Hotels, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Orange, Philips, The Orient Express, RSA, Samsung, Virgin, Vodafone and Zurich.

Joseph Emet

Joseph Emet trained with Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh at Plum Village in France and was made a Dharma teacher in Thich Nhat Hanh's tradition. He has a doctorate in music from Boston University and is the author of Buddha's Book of Sleep (winner of the 2013 COVR Award for Book of the Year), Buddha's Book of Stress Reduction, and Buddha's Book of Meditation. The founder of the Mindfulness Meditation Centre in Montreal, Emet lives in Pointe-Claire, Canada.

Bill Emmott

Bill Emmott was the editor-in-chief of the Economist from 1993 to 2006, and is now a writer and consultant on international affairs. He is a regular contributor to the Financial Times, La Stampa and Nikkei Business. He is the author of several books, including 20:21 Vision: 20th-Century Lessons for the 21st Century (2003), Rivals: How the Power Struggle between China, India and Japan will Shape our Next Decade (2008) and Good Italy, Bad Italy: Why Italy Must Conquer Its Demons to Face the Future (2012).

Walter Emanuel

Walter Emanuel was a well-known author and satirist. After working as a solicitor for five years, he left legal practice to pursue a career in humour writing. His work was featured in humour magazines such as Punch, where he had a weekly column. He is known for his anthropomorphic dog characters. A Dog Day is his most famous work.

Katie Edwards

Katie Edwards is a writer and broadcaster, and former literary academic. She grew up in the north of England where she still lives now.

Kim Echlin

Kim Echlin lives in Toronto. She is the author of Elephant Winter, Dagmar's Daughter, Inanna: From the Myths of Ancient Sumer, and The Disappeared, which was published in seventeen languages, nominated for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and won the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award for Fiction.
